Real Weddings: Brian and Michelle
Brian and Michelle celebrated their wedding here with us on Saturday 7th August 2021 after multiple postponements as a result of the pandemic, it was a beautiful day with everybody in high spirits as this was one of the first weddings with unlimited guests following the COVID restrictions lifting!
With 50 guests in attendance for the ceremony and wedding breakfast and 90 guests for the evening reception – these numbers are what our wedding packages are based on, however we can go up to a maximum of 80 guests for the daytime and 100 for the evening if your guest list is a bit longer.
We ask all of our couples to complete a questionnaire following their wedding so we can learn a bit more about them and receive some feedback from their day! Answers shared below…
- Could you share some details on how you first met and the engagement?
We had known each other for years and bumped into each other in DeNiro’s nightclub in Middlesbrough and we started to see each other and have been together for 17yrs. Brian proposed unexpectedly one Saturday morning whilst I was still in my PJs.
- What first attracted you to The Parkmore Hotel?
From the other venues we looked at we liked the feeling of the Parkmore and the fact that we had separate rooms for the ceremony and the wedding breakfast, also the location was good and easier for both families to get to. The Parkmore also has lovely outside gardens for photos. The packages on offer were excellent value for money.
- We’d love to hear a bit about your décor choices, food, drinks, entertainment, etc.…
The colour theme was purple as it is Michelle’s favourite colour. We chose the hurricane lamps with flowers as they looked stylish and elegant with purple sashes to tie in with colour scheme. We wanted something stylish, but not over fussy, and Special Events North East decorated the room beautifully. We chose chicken as the majority of people requested it and the dessert of sticky toffee pudding is Brian’s favourite.
- Tell us about your favourite wedding photos…
Favourite photos are the ones in the garden, on the dance floor and the ceremony.
- Would you recommend The Parkmore Hotel to other couples? And if so, why?
Yes, we would recommend The Parkmore, from start to finish we had a perfect wedding day with no hiccups. From the first meeting with James to the final meeting with Rebecca everything was professional and friendly, you know your stuff and would like to thank all the team for making our day so special.
